We knew we would be writing a newsletter for Spring of 2018 but we did not think there would still be snow on the ground as we wrote it! But finally, the sun is shining and…just maybe…spring has finally arrived.
Our team here has been very busy this past quarter. In addition to launching our brand new website (thank you Vision Creative), we crossed the finish line on several search projects. Fluid Life has a new VP Finance & Administration to help them continue their amazing growth through a difficult economy. Another Edmonton success story, Argus Machine Co. Ltd, has a new US Account Manager in Houston helping them grow market share in the US. We completed a national search for MacEwan University to help them fill their AVP, Students position and presented candidates from across the country for their consideration. As well, the YMCA of Northern Alberta has a new VP, Marketing & Communications to help them spread word of all the great work they do in our communities. And finally, we completed the search for some new Board Members for Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) who will be officially appointed at the upcoming AGM.
Also, this past quarter, we began working on the following assignments:
- Canterbury Foundation – Director, Health Services
- Athabasca University – VP Finance & Administration and CFO
- Alberta College of Pharmacists – Pharmacy Practice Consultant
- Alberta Dental Association & College – Complaints Associate
- YMCA of Northern Alberta – VP, Human Resources and Leadership Development
So you can see we are busy, which is a good sign for all of us. The search industry is more of a leading economic indicator than a lagging one. We certainly hear it and see it as we interact daily with business leaders in our City. In spite of all the chaos and potential distractions on the political front (provincially, nationally and across the border), we have been impressed with the focus and determination by organizations to stay positive and find ways to prosper and grow. We are innovative, committed and relentless when it comes to supporting our colleagues, our organizations and contributing to our community.
It’s just the Edmonton way.
