Mayor's State of the City 2019

The Vogel Group attended the Mayor’s State of the City 2019 luncheon, presented by Epcor. Since inception, this luncheon has been a platform for Edmonton’s leaders to shine a spotlight on key issues important to our city, our city’s partners and the region. The entire team was in attendance including Rick Vogel, Julie Barron, Rae Ann Mino and Steven Davidson, along with our invited guests.

Led by Don Iveson, our City of Edmonton is quickly becoming the Canadian big city to watch, as one of the youngest, fastest-growing cities in the country and with emerging economic strengths. Edmonton takes the top spot on a national index as the best place in Canada for young people to work, a social enterprise group says. The index looks at four main areas in determining the health of job markets in 21 municipalities for people aged 15 to 29 years old. In no particular order these areas include education options, entrepreneur support, career potential and affordability.

Mayor Don Iveson focused on innovation, economic development and regional cooperation during his speech to the group of attendees. Iveson wrapped up his speech by encouraging residents to contact their MLAs and the new government ministers and ask them about their plans for Edmonton.

This was a terrific opportunity to engage with our guests and network with fellow entrepreneurs. The Vogel Group looks forward to attending again in 2020 and hearing about our city’s growth and accolades.
