Major Gift Manager - Alberta Diabetes Foundation

The Alberta Diabetes Foundation (ADF) is at the forefront of a revolution—relentlessly pursuing a world free from diabetes. Based in Edmonton, ADF is a bold, visionary force funding cutting-edge research, empowering innovation, and accelerating breakthroughs in diabetes prevention, treatment, and ultimately, a cure for Type 1, Type 2 and pre-diabetes.
THE ROLE
The Major Gift Manager is an integral part of the ADF’s fundraising and stewardship activities. This is an exciting time for ADF as they strive to double their fundraising revenues by 2029. You will play a key role in securing major gifts, implementing, and refining fundraising strategies, engaging Albertans in ADF’s vision and mission and ensuring donor stewardship is top of mind.
THE CANDIDATE
Core Competencies:
- A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in successful fundraising is required, with a minimum 5 years proven experience in major and transformational gift solicitation.
- Proven track record of securing gifts of $100,000+.
- Solid understanding of pipeline development, solicitation strategies, donor relations, and stewardship is required.
Additional Competencies:
- CFRE designation is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Raiser’s edge NXT would be an asset.
- Committed to supporting and enhancing organizational culture and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the major gifts portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors with a goal of increasing the number of donors and the size of gifts. This encompasses directing the research, identification, cultivation, and tracking of major gifts and planned giving prospects.
- Solicit major gifts in one-on-one meetings (in person, virtual, or phone calls) with donors.
- Effectively manage a portfolio of 100+ active constituents.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the major gifts portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors with a goal of increasing the number of donors and the size of gifts.
