Edmonton Screen Industries Office (ESIO) - Board of Directors

The Edmonton Screen Industries Office is governed by an experienced, savvy and diverse Board of Directors who are seeking to fill some current gaps in the Board Competency Matrix by adding two new Directors. Established in 2017, ESIO acts as a catalyst, cultivator and stimulator for the screen media industries – film, television, interactive media and digital media production – in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.

The ESIO is tasked with achieving the goal of fostering Edmonton Metro’s potential as a national and international centre of excellence in storytelling, creativity, innovation, collaboration and production. In working towards this goal, the ESIO provides industry advocacy and leadership while working to develop a sustainable competitive advantage supporting a growing Edmonton Metro screen industry sector and diversification of the local economy.

This is a great opportunity for candidates who have:

• Relevant experience and a passion for investment and governance of mission-driven capital funds, prudently stewarding the funds under management, and directing impact-driven investment;

• Solid connections to our regions screen media industries including (but not limited to) TV, film, interactive digital media, gaming; and
• Entrepreneurial and solid business operational experience, preferably with successful start-ups.

In addition, the candidate will also be a community connector with a wide network of contacts and the ability to engage across sectors, communities and governments in and around Edmonton Metro in order to broaden the impact of the ESIO.
