THE ROLE
Fluid Life is seeking a strategic, hands-on, and business-oriented Director of Finance to lead the organization’s financial management, planning, reporting, and operational finance functions. Reporting to the Vice President Finance & Administration, the Director of Finance serves as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team, providing financial insight that supports informed decision-making, sustainable growth, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will balance strategic leadership with operational execution, ensuring strong financial controls while helping the organization capitalize on opportunities in a dynamic industrial services environment.
THE CANDIDATE
Core Competencies
- A Canadian accounting designation.
- Understanding of, or experience with, US GAAP.
- Significant experience in a leadership role with a proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and inspiring a team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Responsible for the professional, accurate and efficient management of Fluid Life’s financial and accounting operations including management reporting, U.S. GAAP financial statements, settlement, accounting revenue reporting and treasury functions.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Vice President, Finance & Administration, and executive leadership team.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and management to the finance team.
- Develop financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, and capital expenditures.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting process across all business units.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and long-range financial plans.
- Analyze monthly financial performance against budget and forecast.
- Develop meaningful financial and operational performance metrics (KPIs).
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and financial regulations.
- Monitor financial risk across the organization.
- Recommend improvements to financial systems, policies, and procedures.
- Support insurance and enterprise risk management initiatives.
