Bissell Centre, Chief Programs Officer

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Programs Officer (“CPO”) is a member of the Executive Team and shares responsibility with the other Officers of the organization for its ongoing oversight and administration. The CPO leads the strategic development and delivery of Bissell Centre’s community programs and services which include data analysis, evaluation and community and economic development. The position, in collaboration with the Directors, Community Programs and Services, is responsible for program contracts, outputs, outcomes, financials, evaluation, and research and development. The CPO also works with agency staff, funders and community organizations to cultivate service and program linkages in order to facilitate the achievement of Bissell Centre’s mandates. The expected breakdown in responsibilities is approximately 50% day-to-day operational oversight, 25% program development and evaluation, and 25% long range research and development.
Do you have:
An undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
A successful track record in a similar or relevant position with an emphasis on program planning, oversight and evaluation and grant development;
Familiarity with issues of poverty and Edmonton’s urban core and knowledge of relevant community and government resources; and
Proven success in leading and mentoring a team.
